About the Artwork
In Known Order Girls (a gripping and thought-provoking dystopian sci-fi), the strong female lead, Katherine Webb, uncovers some forbidden artwork. This is Carol Bloomgarden‘s interpretation of what I describe in the book (and the original cover). Carol’s exquisite micrography work was on my mind as I wrote the scene. If you look closely, you’ll notice that the bee and the outline of the flowers are comprised of the words, “Nevertheless, she persisted.” This is a testament to Katherine’s perseverance and defiance of the authoritarian oligarchy behind the AI that controls every aspect of the lives of the citizens of the Known Order.
